Rooftop Garden Grill - Celebrity Apex

The Rooftop Garden sits at the very top of Celebrity Apex, a space described by Celebrity as a living urban playground. One highlight of the Rooftop Garden is the Rooftop Garden Grill, a speciality restaurant which allows diners to eat in the open air, under the stars, listening to the waves crashing several decks below you. Given the Rooftop Garden Grill is an open air venue, make sure you pick your dining time carefully. We ate there as we sailed away from Barcelona in August 2025.

As a speciality restaurant, there is an extra charge, but considering the environment, ambiance and range of food, the supplement is excellent value for money. It is not gourmet dining in perhaps the way other speciality restaurants are, instead the Rooftop Garden Grill provides a fully immersive outdoor experience, with fresh air and dark skies above you.

The menu offers appetizers such as pulled pork sliders and smoked chicken wings. Main courses include crowd-pleasing dishes including seafood kebabs, grilled filet mignon and the aptly named WTF Burger - watch out for the chilli which sits on top of the burger bun. Hickory smoked brisket and baby back ribs are also on offer, the latter were delicious according to my daughter. All food is cooked to order in the kitchen, which is alongside the venue, and with its open front, diners can see the chefs in action.

Assuming you have room left, desserts included s'mores, peach cobbler and 'The Cookie', which has to tasted to be believed. Accompanying the food menu is a drinks list offering tequila and rum-based cocktails, red, white and rose wines and a range of beers.

We found the Rooftop Garden Grill to be a laid-back casual dining experience. There is

nothing better than eating in the open air, near the edge of the ship, as the sun sets across the Mediterranean Sea. Our table was booked for 8pm, we were still eating at 10.30pm, it's a very relaxing and unhurried experience, made all the better by the excellent wait staff. Oh, and did I mention the fresh air, dark skies, twinkling stars and the sound of the sea. We will be back.
